As I was walking by the living room this afternoon, I noticed on the bottomline ticker on ESPNEWS read "BREAKING NEWS - Sammy Sosa tested positive for steroids in 2003"
Question: How is something "BREAKING NEWS" when it happened six years ago?
This is the perfect example of why I do not care about MLB Steroid Testing anymore. Not only is this test six years old, but look at who failed it. If Sammy Sosa testing positive is breaking news to ESPN, why did they not make a bigger deal out of CC Sabathia and Mark Teixeira going to the Yankees?
Because is was a DUH moment.
Sabathia and Teixeira followed the money. Of course Sammy Sosa failed a drug test - LOOK AT PHOTOS! He was a rail when he started out in Texas (like someone else who started in Pittsburgh), then all of the sudden he is making runs at Roger Maris.
All in all, I am not surprised by much anymore. I would have been more shocked had the ESPNEWS ticker read - "BREAKING NEWS - Sammy Sosa passed his drug test during the 2003 season."
Period.
